Designing Disease - The Theatre of Future Medicine
在這個快速變化的社會中，我們面臨著人 類歷史上從未出現過的各種嚴重健康問題，如COVID-19大流行、糧食短缺、心理健康問題等等。然而，隨著越來越多的新技術和醫學科學的發展，我們有可能克服所有這些醫療挑戰。CRISPR/Cas基因編輯技術、3D生物列印、組織工程等新興生物醫學技術為我們提供了更多戰勝這些健康問題的可能性。
在這次工作坊中，參與者將從自己生病或受創的個人生活經歷及康復過程開始。他們將被引導去研究和分析這些經歷，並將它們轉化為「劇本/譜」。在劇本/譜中，他們需要設計一種推測性的疾病並構建未來情境的敘述。根據這些概念劇本，他們需要創作一個展示，來說明他們對未來醫學的想像。
In this fast-changing society, we are facing all kinds of severe health problems which have never happened in human history before, such as the pandemic of COVID-19, food shortages, mental health issues and so on. However, since we have more and more new technology and medical science have been developed, we might have the chance to overcome all of those challenges of health care. CRISPR / Cas gene editing technology, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering and other emerging biomedical technologies provide more possibilities for us to defeat all those health problems.
In this workshop participants will start with their own personal life experience of being ill or traumatized and the process of getting healed. They will be guided to research and analyze these experience and translate them to “scripts/scores”. In the scripts/scores, they have to design a speculative disease and construct the narrations of the future scenario. According to these conceptual scripts, they have to create a presentation to illustrate their imaginations of future medicine.
