米蘭設計週為全球最大設計盛事，每年四月吸引全球超過2000個品牌，並在去年突破40萬人次共襄盛舉，而實踐大學工業產品設計學系是2023年台灣唯一受Salone del Mobile邀請展出的教育機構。
今年，駐米蘭台北辦事處與實踐大學工業產品設計學系攜手 ，於米蘭設計週期間舉辦「ONE KM² CLUSTER IN TAIPEI」展覽，向世界展示台灣青年設計師們將台北的傳統加工產業、材料採購聚落與現代設計相結合所碰撞出的精湛結晶。
展覽中師生以台北舊城區製造中心為核心，穿梭於金屬加工的興城街、木料加工的寧夏路、化工材料的天水路以及塑膠批發的太原路之間，以設計重新挖掘傳統產業的可能性，創造出20組獨特的作品。亮點包括：透過工業液壓機進行實驗的金屬家具、五金零件創新重組實驗、從蛋糕擠花啟發的PU發泡家具等，展現傳統工業材料與現代創意的融合之美。
駐米蘭台北辦事處致力於推動台灣與義北8大行政區在經濟、科技、文化、學術及藝術等領域的交流與合作。駐米蘭台北辦事處表示，期待透過此次與實踐大學工業產品設計學系的合作展覽為台灣帶來更多的國際關注與榮譽，以堅強的工業設計軟實力讓世界看到台灣，未來也將持續與不同單位合作，讓台灣在國際間不只是「 Made in Taiwan」，更是「 Design in Taiwan 」，為創造台灣搭建更多與歐洲的產業與文化鏈結。
This year, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Milan collaborated with the Industrial Product Design Department of Shih Chien University to present the "ONE KM² CLUSTER IN TAIPEI" exhibition during Milan Design Week. Through this exhibition, Taiwanese young designers showcased the exquisite fusion of Taipei's traditional manufacturing industries, material sourcing clusters, and modern design.
In the exhibition, faculty and students focused on the Taipei Old City Manufacturing Center, navigating through the pathways of metalworking, woodworking, chemical materials, and plastic wholesale. Through design, they explored the possibilities of revitalizing traditional industries, resulting in the creation of 20 unique pieces, demonstrating the harmonious blend of traditional industrial materials with modern creativity.
