視覺溝通與應用
Visual Communication
讓學生了解編排設計的表現形式與訊息內容之間的關係,同時練習在表現形式、目的性與功能用途間進行整合和平衡的工作。藉此了解傳播理論、視覺傳達、清楚編排原則、認識你的預設觀眾、以及掌握溝通視覺傳播的目的,並創造出知覺性的主觀視覺效果。
The purpose of this course is to help student understand what the “visual communication” is and how to apply the typeface and images to the foundation of graphic design. Also, to make students understand the relationship between form and content in graphic design field.

產品表現技法
Presentation Drawing
1.設計表現法主要目的是運用簡易的材料,以手繪快速描繪出構想中的造形,呈現將來產品的形態。 2.進階的設計表現技法,藉由使用情境描繪,產品意象特徵表現等方法,傳達設計的深層意含。 3.發表的概念草圖與版面設計規劃技巧,也是本課程的訓練重點。
1. Presentation Drawing focuses on using simple material, methods and technique to present concepts rapidly. 2. Advanced techniques focuses on presenting the usage scenario of a product, showing its meaning in design. 3. Visual layout of presentation as one of the basic skills that will be taught in this course.

Design Communication
本課程專注於探索「設計作為敘事性」 (Design as narratives) 的各種可能性。藉此實驗設計與敘事性、溝通、媒介呈現之間的關係,練習如何把設計概念透過各種媒介有效地與有美學性地傳達出來讓大眾所理解、所感受。
This course will be focused on exploring the possibility of “Design as narratives”. Through experimenting with the relationship between design and narratives, communication, and media presentation. Practicing how to use different media to communicate the design concept effectively and aesthetically to the public which can be understood and felt.
電腦輔助設計整合應用
Integrated Application of CAD
期使學生瞭解產品構思、材料的特性與製造程序,各種製程方法的原理和實際操作應用,藉由傳統的模型製作方式、快速成型與CNC加工機等操作練習,期使學生對產品之構思、精度、製造程序及產品模型等相關的內容有一完整的基本概念。
Enabling students to understand the characteristics of product ideas, materials and manufacturing processes, principles and practical applications of the various processing methods, through traditional modes of model making and rapid prototyping machines with CNC machining workshop, students about conception, accuracy of the product and manufacturing processes and related content such as product models have a complete set of basic concepts.

訊息與設計
Information and Design
設計物並只是造型與材質的結合,也會與人的使用行為有關;同時,設計物也是鑲嵌在資訊社會中,也成為一種傳遞意義的媒體。因此,設計師應該也要能了解資訊與設計的課題,並掌握適當的研究與設計方法。本課程透過演講與討論,讓同學們能夠理解相關的概念。並且透過方法與練習,學習到資訊研究與設計的方式。
Design objects are not only a combination of shape and material, but also related to people's use behavior. At the same time, design objects are also embedded in the information society and become a medium for conveying meaning. Therefore, designers should also be able to understand information and design issues, and master appropriate research and design methods. This course allows students to understand related concepts through lectures and discussions. And through methods and exercises, learn the methods of information research and design.

視覺識別設計
Visual Identity Design
本創作課程提供視覺傳達設計相關創意領域之基礎理論與務實學習機會。在學習視覺識別系統(VIS)的基本原則、概念與應用之外,本課程亦鼓勵學生在玩味文字與圖像的創作過程中開拓不同創新概念與多媒體形式的可能性,藉此實驗、探索與顛覆平面設計之傳統常態。本設計課程之目標為幫助學生發展自身的設計師信念、身份認同與形象,並透過傳達設計策略將其應用於各自專業領域。除講座外,學生亦將參與課堂工作坊與校外田野工作,透過行動產出新想法與創作方法,也同時更加了解如何透過平面設計清楚表達自我設計專業形象、產設概念與創作論述。
This studio course provides an introduction to the practices and theories of various fields under (and beyond) the banner of visual communication design. In addition to the basic principles, concepts and applications of Visual Identity System (VIS), students are encouraged to experiment, explore and challenge the conventions of prevalent graphic design praxis through mixing text and image with creative concepts and multimedia forms. The objective of this course is to help the students develop their own beliefs, identities and brands as a designer, and incorporate them into their professions through communications design strategies. Besides lectures, students will participate in classroom workshops as well as off-campus fieldwork to generate novel ideas and methodologies through actions. Students will also understand the roles and tactics of graphic design as a crucial means to support their professional image, product design concepts and creative statements. ▲Course Objectives: Organized for students studying industrial design, this graphic design course aims to incite a broader scope of design thinking with interdisciplinary course materials and perspectives. Students will learn how to establish a set of systematic design strategies to produce works with appropriate and better forms of communication, curation and presentation.
專案企劃
Design Project Planning
對設計師而言,極少人有機會自專案的企劃開始,一直執行到結果產出,並面對真實世界的挑戰。本課程的重點集中於設計專案的企劃活動,以實踐工設的年度專刊作為實驗對象,教師與學生將以團隊方式進行定位的研究與細節執行的實習,最終提案將於下學期實際付諸執行,並由市場的反應回饋中理解企劃的得失。
There is a very little chance for all designers to start a project from the beginning and all the way to the end to realize the real world. This program focuses on the planning process of design project. Taking the annual yearbook of design curriculum as the core practice, the teacher and students will team up to find specific positioning and get into all details. The final proposal will be put into practice next semester and see the real feedback from the market.
介面設計
Interface Design
界面設計即為利用視覺傳達、識別的原理加入時間軸的觀念與引發使用者情緒等元素,透過雙向的溝通與傳遞、選擇和情境,在時間軸中便產生不同順序的排列組合與結果,並非只有單向式的接受訊息。所謂互動式設計(INTERACTIVITY DESIGN )包含分析整合兩個獨立的系統(INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE)和營造一個通路或橋樑和使用情境與方法使這兩個系統能夠相互合作與共存,而此通路或橋樑即為這兩個系統之介面,此介面設計的基本原則為:記憶的最小化和操作的最大化,來達成減低使用者的「認知負荷」(CONGNITIVE BURDEN) 與發揮系統最大功能之目的。
Interface design involves the use of principles of visual communication and recognition, incorporating elements such as the concept of a timeline and evoking user emotions. Through bidirectional communication and transmission, choices, and contexts, different sequences and combinations of results are generated on the timeline, rather than just unidirectional reception of information.

Seminar (II): Design Strategy, Aesthetics and Technology
設計正處於快速轉型成長的大變動時期,進入企業經營管理領域成為加速創意的組織觸媒,進入社會問題解決成為社會創新的重要引擎,進入網際網路與物聯網下互動體驗的形塑力量,在設計思考、社會設計、服務設計、推測設計、參與設計等新興領域中「社會學想像力」遂成為任何有志於調整未來的設計師不可或缺的知識視野與工具;另外隨之當代藝術更廣泛地與社會趨勢的強化對話,批判設計、推論設計、論述設計甚至傳統美學思維都不可避免要面對處理許多社會學的思維線索與感性暗示。「脈絡」、「平臺」、「生態」、「系統」等概念成為設計師必要熟悉的工具之際,具備社會學的幾本思維能力也變得至為緊迫。本課程是為設計而重新打造的一門社會學理論課程,修課完畢妳將會裝備未來設計師幾本的社會學素養與感性,為更廣泛多樣深入社會的對話能量打造基礎涵養與思辨能力。
Design is currently undergoing a period of rapid transformation and growth, becoming a catalyst for accelerating creativity in business management, a crucial engine for social innovation in addressing societal issues, and a shaping force for interactive experiences in the context of the Internet and the Internet of Things. In emerging fields such as design thinking, social design, service design, speculative design, and participatory design, ""sociological imagination"" has become an indispensable knowledge perspective and tool for any designer aspiring to shape the future.

Design Practice in Research and Study
1. 協助學生瞭解設計產業之組織架構,運作狀況及工作內涵並學習適應機構之組織文化與工作氣氛 2. 協助學生以案主、實務工作者和機構的立場,培養思考、發問和評論的能力 3. 協助學生建立專業態度、培養專業倫理與增強專業認同感。

設計心理專題
Research on Design Psychology
1. 針對設計學系學生背景與學習興趣,學習以認知與感知心理學、語言學、認知科學、建築、環境設計、行為學、產品設計、資訊設計、資訊系統、人類學、品牌管理、互動設計、服務設計、故事、自我評估,以及設計思考等角度,演練『經驗設計』於實際設計的應用中。 2. 培養尊重多元化人性價值的設計觀念,發展以人為本的設計原則。
Design by Psychology aims on integrating the knowledge domain of psychology into the practice of industrial design. Design research will be conducted with the eye-tracking technique to examine user's attention, preference, and usability for different types of product designs and website designs as well. Students will learn how to operate Tobii eye tracker and its data analysis. Design tips and suggestions are expected from the design evaluation of this research.
